A number of my customers of late have been exceedingly complimentary of Thomson cruises. They may not have the newest fleet on the block (cue MSC for that title) but it sounds like, for a bit of true Brit grit, you can't beat a package-holiday-on-a-boat...
The service is described as "not snooty, not over-the-top, just what you want" - this is in comparison to the "superior and nonchalant attitude" of the white-uniformed crew-members aboard some Italian cruise-line's ships.
Even P&O have been chastised by some customers as still being a little too old-fashioned and "stiff, upright and inflexible" but apparently, for your average Brit-abroad, you can't beat a bit of the time-served Thomson service.
Entertainment aboard is described to hit the spot, kids clubs doing just what they say on the tin and, well, if the ships had balconies, I'd start offering their cruises to everyone I think!
Any comment you wish to add would be greatly appreciated. :-)
